Thrive is a systematic approach to the early identification of emotional developmental need in children so that differentiated provision can be put in place quickly by the adults working most closely with the child. It supports ongoing emotional and social development whilst helping to build resilience and self-esteem. This programme prepares children to be ready, confident and willing to learn, supporting them to re-engage in their learning and gain skills for future success.
The Thrive approach is based on the most up to date knowledge about the way our brains develop and child development. It helps to identify existing learning gaps and provides simple strategies to address them. The programme strongly promotes the use of creativity and provides staff with strategies for helping a child and a growing understanding of why a child may behave in a certain way.
