Bulletin 584 24th March 2019
World Book Day
It was tremendous (as always) to see the range of children’s costumes this morning – thank you for all your efforts, especially with the homemade costumes, I know it can take a lot of time. I thought the staff looked fabulous too! A small selection of children and staff pictures will be on our Facebook page soon.
School Badge Consultation
Thank you for responding to our badge consultation – over 200 people responded. People spoke of the importance of keeping our school name on the badge and of showing that we are part of a larger organisation whilst keeping our identity. We expect to be able to confirm that changes are being made (if any) in the next couple of weeks.
We are looking to recruit more midday supervisors to our team. If you are interested, please ask at the school office for an application pack.
You may have noticed that we are regularly patrolling in the morning and continue to have some issues. In particular, the ‘exit’ gate area is NOT to be used for dropping children off at the start of the day. It is dangerous and unnecessary.
Book and Bake Sale
This is being organised by the Friends and will take place after school on Friday the 29th of March. Cakes and second hand books will be sold for 50p each. Children will receive house points for any donations of books which can be made during the week of the 25th of March; donations of cakes would be gratefully received on the day.
Red Nose Day
Next Friday (15th) is Red Nose Day and we invite everyone to come to school dressed in red for a 50p donation to charity. In addition, there will be a cake sale at break time; all cakes will cost 50p. All donations of cakes can be made on the day and left in the atrium first things in the morning. Any left-over cakes will be sold after school. Thank you for your support.
Tomorrow (Friday 8th March) will be our first Late Gate. Children who are not in the playground when the bell rings will have to enter via the hall doors. Typically, around 30 children are late into the playground in the morning, please make every effort to be on time.
Congratulations to Earth house (green) on winning the house points challenge last half term – we hope you enjoyed your non-uniform day last week. The current totals are: Earth – 1037; Air – 1015; Fire – 984;
Water – 884
Mrs Whitehall, who has been school secretary and bursar for some considerable period of time has decided the time is right for her to enjoy some morning lie-ins! As such, she will be leaving our school at the end of this term. Her time here has spanned three headteachers and many important events in education, both nationally and locally, we thank her for her dedicated and loyal service and wish her all the very best for the future.
The next bulletin will be on the 21st of March.
